 NEWTON’S RING EXPERIMENT

MODEL:VTPL-NR-50

NEWTON’S RING APPARATUS:

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:-

Measuring Microscope: It is similar to the one described in except that the height of the Microscope is shorter to Mount & focus the Newton’s Ring setup. The dia of the Rings can be measured in both horizontal & Longitudinal direction.

NEWTON’S RING SETUP:

An optically true round glass plate with a Plano Convex Lens of large focal length

(f.i.between 175 to 200 cms) is housed in a metal frame with three screws for applying pressure for the formation of Newton’s Rings. The focal length of the lens is marked.

An adjustable reflecting glass plate is fitted at one side of the metal frame. It can be adjusted and clamped at an angle of 45o to throw Monochromatic light on the lens-plate to illuminate the Newton’s Rings.

A Condenser lens is fitted at the rear edge of the metal frame to focus parallel beam of light from Sodium Lamp on the Reflecting plate.

The whole setup is mounted on the Microscope Stage with two screws. The rings can be observed by

adjusting the Microscope Tube with Rack & Pinion. The whole setup is detachable.

For quick setting a slit is provided at one side of the frame to insert a marked slip on the Lens-Plate to focus the Field of View. Thus the observer will have no difficulty in focusing the Rings through the Microscope.

NOTE: There may be any change in specification due to continuous R & D without notice.
