Apparatus for Measurement of Susceptibility of Paramagnetic Solutions by Quinck's tube Method, Model: QTX-01

Introduction:- Quinck's tube method is the simplest method to determine the magnetic susceptibility of Paramagnetic Solutions.

Theory:- When a Paramagnetic solution placed in the magnetic field the magnetic forces of material electrons will be affected.

Experiment :- The paramagnetic solution in the narrow capillary of quinck's tube rise/ fall when placed in magnetic field . The susceptibility can be determine by measuring the change in the level of solution.

A material's susceptibility tells us how “Susceptible” it is to become magnetized by an applied field, which is defined as the magnetization “m” and produce / unit magnetic field 'H'.

Formula used:-  χ = m/H

The Expereriment consist of the following:-

(a) Electromagnet (Model : EMU-75T / EMU -50T)

(b) Constant Current Power Supply, Model:CC-7./ EMU - 50

(c) Digital Gauss Meter(Model:DGM – 100)

(d) Travelling Microscope

(e) Quinck's Tube with stand

(f) Sample- MnSO4 ,FeCl3

(g) Connecting Leads
